Although the best practice is to Allow Googlebot to crawl your entire site, most common WordPress installation usually creates duplicate entry of same URL’s. For instance archives, tags, date archives, search results etc. That is why all WordPress CMS setups should better guide Google’s crawl (thus also index) as to which URI’s you want to have indexed, instead of letting Googlebot to index duplicate content dynamically generated content.
